Thanks to the heroic efforts of a volunteer crew of GCKI members, race fans attending upcoming events at the GCKI track will be able to view the excitement in total comfort.  A new awning has been installed completely covering the new aluminum bleachers in most welcome shade.  The new awning system features a high-tech remote control enabling the covers to be opened for races, then retracted to preserve them from wind and sun damage.  The effect on anyone sitting in the bleachers is very dramatic.  The sun is totally blocked while completely preserving the excellent viewing lines of the track.  So fear not the Houston summer heat - come out and watch the next races under the shade of our newest track improvement.
