Scoring & Points 

 

• Series championship points will be awarded to each participant according to their finish position in the feature race. Each participant will receive points equal to the total number of entries registered in the class, plus the number of points determined by the finish position of the participant as follows: 1st, 200; 2nd, 175; 3rd, 155; 4th 140; 5th, 130; 6th, 120; 7th, 110; 8th, 100; 9th, 90; 10th, 80; 11th, 75; 12th, 70; 13th, 65; 14th, 60; 15th, 55; 16th, 50; 17th, 45; 18th, 40; 19th, 35; 20th, 30; 21st, 27; 22nd, 24; 23rd, 21; 24th, 18; 25th, 15; 26th, 12; 27th, 9; 28th, 6; 29th, 3; and, 30th, 0.

 

• Any participant who is present at a GCKI event and registers, but whose kart does not pass pre or post race technical inspection, breaks during practice, or otherwise fails to start the feature will be awarded last place points for the class entered.  In the event 2 or more participants in the same class suffer this fate, each will receive the same points equal to last place (for example, if there are 8 entries and 2 of them fail to start, they will both be awarded 8th place and no one will be awarded 7th place).  Kid Kart participants that do not pass tech will not receive points for the race day.
