GCKI Swap Meet 1GCKI Guest Drive & Swap Meet, Jan 9th, 2016 10am - 4pm - Paddock move in at 8 am

This is going to be an event that you do not want to miss. Indeed you will want to invite all your friends to come out and be our guest drivers. It will be a day for novices, friends who wonder what it is you do, classmates, colleges and co-workers to come to understand what it is you love about karting. We also want you to bring out your junk because, you know, it is another man’s treasure! Yes we will combine this event with a swap meet so that your friends that decided they love what you do can get in on a deal and the action at GCKI!

We will also have an onsite BBQ lunch, Sponsored by JB Motorsports / ALPHA Kart USA with profits going to our club to help with facility improvements!

Please download the invite below and send it to as many friends as you can, inviting them to this event, bring your kart and any extra safety equipment that you are prepared to let our guest have a drive in. Then clear out your garage and brush up on your haggling skills it’s time to sell some of that stuff you've got lying around! Chassis, Engines, Helmets, Race Suits, Kart Stands, Spare parts, Fuel Jugs whatever you have to get rid of bring it along!

We will be looking for volunteers to help with running this event and help get our guests in karts.

By popular demand, GCKI is planning to hold the annual Winter-Blast, non-points, fun race.  The planned date is Sunday January 10th.  The event will be conditional upon two factors – the weather and the willingness of people to volunteer.  If the prediction is for rain or temperatures below 45 degrees on Sunday per the “Weather Bug” forecast on Friday January 8th – the race will be cancelled.

 

All current 2015 class rules and driver eligibilities will apply to this event.

 

Additionally, we will need the following positions filled – (3) volunteer corner workers, assistant race secretary (wristbands), scales, grid.  Please respond to this posting with your willingness to commit to one of these positions at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .  Workers will qualify for 2016 Spring Series worker points for the driver of their choice.  If the roles are not filled by Friday January 8th with volunteers – the race will be cancelled.

GCKI is very excited to announce the much anticipated, new Ladies 4-Stroke class.  So call your moms, call your wives, call your girlfriends and call your sisters becasue they are not going to want to miss out on this fun, affordable class for Ladies Only!

Ladies 4-Stroke Class

  • Entry Fee: $40 entry if second racing family member, otherwise normal price
  • Awards:    Run for trophies and points all races (as per John’s suggestion)
  • Series:     Series will be Spring 5, 6,7 and Fall 1,3,4,5,7
  • Drops:     Two drops, best 6 of 8 for championship
  • Format:    7 minute Qualifying, 8 lap Pre-Final, 10 lap Final
  • Tyres:      MG Red tires
  • Weight:    Chonda 320lbs, LO206 335lbs - (will adjust as necessary)
