We have seen tremendous turnout at our races this year! As a result it is imperative that the parking and the pit space be done in an efficient manner. Please see the revised diagram showing the pit locations at the track. Each pit space is 10’ wide, and there are two spaces between the yellow posts. There should be only one pit space for each trailer, with the pitting out of the back, but not on the pit runners. Exceptions to this should only be for teams with three or more karts, then a second pit space may be used.
Our Saturday practice days are almost as busy as a race day, and many leave their trailers overnight for the race on Sunday. It is important that pitting on Saturday follow the same procedures as race day, one trailer per pit space. Please pit as near to the front as possible, without taking the sponsor’s pit area. This will allow a more manageable parking for those that arrive on Sunday.
- Red areas reserved for sponsors
- Pit area is 10’ section (two pit spots between power poles)
- One pit area per trailer, please pit out of the back
|
- Do not block access on edge of property
- Park cars on property, not on street
- No pitting on pavement

Thank you for your cooperation,
Paul Jones GCKI President

Gulf Coast Karters is participating in the Briggs & Stratton Weekly Racing Series again in 2016!
Have you ever wondered how you stand up against other racers in your state or region of the country? That is the premise behind the Briggs & Stratton Weekly Racing Series. “We wanted to incorporate the fun and excitement of racing the 206 crate engine with a program that supports both the racers and local tracks running it” stated David Klaus, Director- Briggs & Stratton Racing.
See how you rate against other LO206 racers in our region. GCKI will be sending the race results to Briggs & Stratton after each race so they can enter the results into their database which keeps track of the region's points standings.
Racers in each region will be competing for over $11,000 in generators and pressure washers. “Great prizes along with bragging rights are on the line as well as every racer’s cumulative points will go towards crowning our 2015 ‘Top 206’ tracks.”
More information on the series and prizes is on the Briggs & Stratton Weekly Racing Series website http://www.briggswrs.com
With the 2016 Race season well underway and record membership in hand, we are starting to see significant turnout on some of our practice days. We sometimes have as many on a practice day as a full race day. That being said, it is appropriate we review what should be appropriate procedures on these busy days.
First and foremost, safety is the number one concern. No activity or procedure should not be done on these days that would not be allowed on a full race day. Those include:
- Practice days are for members only
- All race gear needs to be on while on the track, including neck braces
- No spectators on the track, karts only
- No kart stands or recovery while karts are on the track
- No fueling in the grid area (it will destroy the asphalt)
- No mixing of inappropriate classes
- Be considerate of the time on the track, particularly when there are large groups
- Make sure everyone knows what the group make up and order is (this is your club, let’sall help run it)
- No speeding in the hot grid area
- No driving karts on the pit runners
- Keep the place clean, please empty the trash to the dumpster
If we all make the effort to be courteous and help each other, we will all have a great day at the track.
