Gulf Coast Karters, co-sponsors of the Texas Pro-Kart Challenge, and race organizers of both the GCKI and Grand-Sport legs of the 2012 TPKC, invite everyone to come out and experience what GCKI has to offer the Texas karting community. Those who participated in this year's TPKC already know that GCKI puts on one of the finest karting events around. Now we want to give that opportunity to all, so on Saturday September 29 we invite all Karters to come to Katy and try out our facilities - for free.
We will be holding controlled practice sessions from approximately 10:00am until 5:00 pm on Saturday. At 5:00 we'll close down the track and prepare for the TPKC awards banquet. Since we'll be expecting a big crowd on hand for both the banquet and the big money race on Sunday September 30th, this free day and the following race day should give everyone two fantastic track-day opportunities.
Note: All drivers on track must sign a legal waiver of liability and receive and wear a free wristband. (GCKI club members must only show a valid club ID card to get the free wristband for Saturday). Wristbands should be worn through Sunday. (You will be given an alternate color wristband on Sunday in addition to your insurance wristband.)
We are expecting GCKI fall race 5 to be one of our biggest events of the year. We look forward to seeing past friends and a lot of new faces enjoying the best karting experience in the area.
Race Day Schedule
9:00am - 10:30am
Spectators are welcome. There is a $5 fee for anyone over 5 years of age, and a wristband must be obtained in the club house.
*Practice time at race directors discretion.
And in other news
Gulf Coast Karters welcomes and encourages members and non-members to volunteer to help run our kart racing events. You don't have to race to be involved in kart racing at Gulf Coast Karters. You can be a Corner Worker, Grid Marshall or work the Concessions Stand on race day and get paid for your service to GCKI. You don't have to be a member to serve as a race worker. Come and join in the action! Sign up to work in the Worker Forum Thread.
