NOTICE: The track will be closed to practice on Saturday morning - March 9th from sun-up until noon. This is necessary to prep the rear of the property for the installation of a new fence. The more volunteers we have, the faster the work will go, and we may be able to open the track earlier. If we get limited help, the closure could be extended longer until the necessary work is completed.
The officers have been working on a project to construct a new fence across the back of the property. The opportunity to build the fence and have it available for the TPKC has unexpectedly moved rapidly and the contractor would like to start Monday. The property line must be cleared and prepped, which will include moving tires, cutting brush and perhaps removing trees. Work will commence this Friday morning. Bryan and Jan Joplin will be coordinating the effort at the track. Anyone who is available to help on Friday and/or Saturday morning would be most appreciated.
Volunteers should consider bringing weed-whackers, blowers, and should have gloves, work boots, etc. The GCKI facility is only as good as we all make it. So, if you were planning to come out for practice Saturday (and even if you weren't) - please make the effort to get there early and pitch in on this very worthy effort.
The track direction for Spring Race 3 is scheduled to be clockwise. The track will remain in the clockwise configuration until the project to construct the fence is completed - which may extend to Spring Race 4.
